Wednesday night there were between 41-51 people let go from Honeywell Plant One based on numerous sources in the community with knowledge of the dismissals. This brings the total number of employees let go during the pandemic to an estimated 70-90 people. We have messages out to various Honeywell media sources to verify these numbers more precisely.

Honeywell’s Plant One, located at 315 E. Stephenson St. in Freeport, had a large number of employees who were assembly workers for airline products. Those employees who were let go reportedly all worked on the second and third floors on third shift.

The smaller first round of dismissals happened at the end of July. After the latest round it’s reported that the remaining employment at Honeywell in Freeport is 378 employees. July’s initial announcement by Honeywell indicated they had cut 9,929 jobs worldwide which was about 9% of their total workforce globally. The total dismissed from Freeport production plants would out the number between 15 and 20 percent.
